He has enjoyed success at the Met in New York, in Chicago and San Francisco, at the Munich State Opera, at London‘s Covent Garden, at the Paris Opéra National, La Scala in Milan, the Berlin State Opera, as well as at the Salzburg Festival, Baden-Baden and Montpellier. Born and trained in southern Poland, he first became ensemble member at the State Theatre in Linz and subsequently at the Zurich Opera. He made his debut at the Vienna State Opera in 1996 with Anton Bruckner‘s Te Deum and thereafter could be heard as Tamino, Belmonte, Alfredo, Faust, Rodolfo, Roméo and Edgardo. His central current repertoire includes Verdi‘s Duca, Massenet‘s Werther, Gounod‘s Roméo, Tchaikovsky‘s Lensky and Vaudémont, Smetana‘s Jenik, and most recently Massenet‘s Des Grieux. Current engagements include Hoffmann, Idomeneo and Manrico. In the 2012/2013 season he appeared in Munich and Warsaw, at La Scala in Milan, the Opera Bastille in Paris and the Met. He is also a sought-after concert singer and regularly works with leading conductors.

Elīna Garanča

Elīna Garanča was born into a musical family in Riga, Latvia. She studied at the Latvian Academy of Music with her mother. She won the Mirjam Helin Singing Competition in 1999 and was a finalist in the 2001 BBC Cardiff Singer of the World Competition. Ms Garanča is an exclusive recording artist with Deutsche Grammophon and she has won three “ECHO Klassik” awards: “Singer of the Year” in 2007, “Vocalist of the Year” in 2010 and “Solo Recording of the Year” for her most recent recording - “Romantique”. Amongst other roles, she is particularly renowned for her portrayal of Bizet’s Carmen, which she has sung to critical acclaim at both the Royal Opera House Covent Garden and the Metropolitan Opera. The New York Times named her the finest Carmen in the last 25 years. Ms Garanča appears regularly at the Vienna State Opera, the Metropolitan Opera, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, the Salzburg Festival, the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, the Bavarian State Opera in Munich and the Deutsche Oper in Berlin and continues to perform various concerts, festivals and recitals all over the world.

The JOHANN STRAUSS QUARTETT

The JOHANN STRAUSS QUARTET was founded in 1994 by four ambitious musicians from the Vienna Symphony Orchestra. The aim has been to bring traditional 19th Century Viennese Music closer to the public with a reduced line-up for 2 violins, viola and double bass. Since its inception, the ensemble has performed regularly with great success at home and abroad. Highlights have included engagements at the Vienna Musikverein, at the Konzerthaus and at the Bregenz Festival. In the summer of 2000, the first CD was recorded, which was enthusiastically received by the public and industry experts and provides an enrichment of the international music scene.
